How this calculation works
The mat opening subtracts the selected overlap from each edge of the blocked stitched area. Adding the visible mat border gives the required frame inside dimensions. The mounting result separately shows the canvas size needed for the chosen working margin.
What to verify before buying or cutting
A textile framer must inspect blocking, squareness, mounting, glazing clearance, and rabbet depth. Never cut a completed canvas from calculator results alone.
